How the estimate works
The calculator starts with approximate project volume, then multiplies by about 10.5 lb per cubic foot of buckwheat hull fill. Soft, medium, and firm settings adjust that number.
It is an honest planning estimate, not a promise that every pillow maker will like the same firmness. Adjustable projects benefit from having a little extra fill on hand.
Need help choosing?
For uncertain projects, start medium and keep spare hulls in the resealable bag. Add hulls for more lift, or remove a handful at a time for a softer pillow.
